One-stop licensing

Altamonte Springs is one of Seminole County's one-stop cities. The City Clerk issues both the City and County receipts, so you don't need a separate trip to the Tax Collector.

Applications and renewals go through the Civic Access System only. After you pay a renewal, allow one to two business days for the City to issue it. It arrives by email from [email protected] and stays in your portal account.

If your work needs a state license, you show a copy before any receipt is issued. Seminole County's fee is $25 for non-regulated businesses and $45 for regulated ones. All county receipts expire September 30.

Permits and inspections are handled by the City's Building and Fire Safety Department, and Growth Management handles planning. Complaints about how a business operates go to the Better Business Bureau, not the Clerk.

The tax itself sits in Chapter 19 of the City code. The renewal guide reminds you that a Florida business tax receipt isn't a license, even where the portal says 'License.' The Clerk keeps a list of taxed businesses and answers questions at (407) 571-8116 or [email protected].
