Orange County, Florida

Apopka business websites

Websites for Apopka service businesses.

Getting licensed in Apopka

Apopka requires both a City and an Orange County Business Tax Receipt. City applications are online only through OpenGov, with a $10 application fee on top of the tax, and renewals are due September 30.

Home-based applications usually clear in 3 to 5 business days. Commercial locations wait for Building and Fire inspections, and the space has to be ready to open.

Since July 1, 2024, Apopka no longer mails renewal invoices or takes paper applications, so set a reminder before September 30; unrenewed receipts show a late penalty on the portal from October 1. Payments can also be made in person at City Hall, 120 E. Main Street.

Apopka contractors register with the City and keep a workers' compensation certificate on file naming the City as holder (or an approved exemption). The name on the license and the insurance certificate must match, which is worth mirroring on your website.
