Contractor Website Design in Tampa, FL

Tampa is growing fast and much of its housing stock is old enough to need real work. A contractor website here has to show two things at once: that you're licensed for the job, and that you've built the kind of project the client has in mind. We build that site, host it and keep it running.

The Tampa client: growing city, half owners, half renters

The Census Bureau puts Tampa at 413,554 people as of July 1, 2025, up 7.3% since 2020. Just over half of homes, 50.3%, are owner-occupied, with a median value of $420,400 and a median household income of $75,475. That split matters for a contractor: roughly half your residential calls come from owners improving a home they plan to keep, and the rest from landlords and property managers who need work done between tenants.

Your site should speak to both. A page for homeowners can lead with kitchens, baths and additions; a page for property managers can lead with turnover work, code repairs and how you schedule around tenants. A Business or Pro plan gives you room for both.

Hillsborough County licensing and what to show on your site

Hillsborough County issues its own contractor licenses for the regulated construction trades and for any work that needs a permit, in categories that mirror the state's license types. The county also licenses local specialty trades such as aluminum structures, drywall, garage doors, glass and glazing, irrigation, plaster and stucco, and windows and doors. State-certified contractors register with the county without charge.

Florida separates certified contractors, who may work anywhere in the state, from registered contractors, who work only in the local jurisdictions that approved them. To hold either license, a contractor files an affidavit of workers' compensation, public liability and property damage insurance. Put your license type and number in the footer and on your About page, and link to DBPR's license search. It's the first thing a careful Tampa homeowner checks.

Historic districts are a selling point

Tampa has four local historic districts and 64 local historic landmarks. Exterior work in Hyde Park, Seminole Heights and Tampa Heights goes through the Architectural Review Commission, and Ybor City's goes through the Barrio Latino Commission, with a Certificate of Appropriateness applied for through the city's Accela portal, the same system Construction Services uses for building permits.

If you've done bungalow restorations or porch rebuilds in those neighborhoods, give them their own gallery page and say plainly that you handle the review process. Owners in historic districts search for exactly that, and few contractor sites mention it.

Why licensed matters to your clients, in their words

Florida's Homeowners' Construction Recovery Fund can reimburse a homeowner who wins a judgment against a licensed contractor and can't collect, but it's unavailable when the contractor was unlicensed at the time of the contract. Unlicensed contracting is a first-degree misdemeanor and a third-degree felony after a declared state of emergency, which is exactly when storm-repair scams appear. A short "Why hire licensed" section that explains this in plain words helps a client justify choosing you over a cheaper unlicensed bid.

Tampa's rainy season runs about May 25 to October 10, with frequent lightning, and hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. A storm-season page explaining how you handle insurance claims and emergency dry-in work can be switched on each year.

Tampa contractor website questions

What will a contractor website cost me each month?

Starter is $24.99 a month for one page, Business is $34.99 for up to 3 pages and Pro is $49.99 for up to 5. There's no setup fee, hosting and technical upkeep are included, and you pay the first month through secure Stripe checkout at signup.

Can the site show both my county and state licenses?

Yes. We list your Hillsborough County license and your DBPR certification or registration wherever you'd like them, usually the footer and About page, with a link to the state's license search.

I only do historic renovations. Can the site reflect that?

Yes. We can make historic-district work the focus of your gallery and home page, and note that you handle Architectural Review Commission or Barrio Latino Commission submissions.

How quickly can it launch?

Your first draft typically arrives 5–7 business days after your first month is paid and we have your content, then two revision rounds are included before launch.
