Contractor Website Design in Jacksonville, FL

Jacksonville passed a million residents in 2025 and covers more ground than any other city in the lower 48. A contractor website here has to tell people which parts of Duval County you really serve, and prove you're licensed to pull permits there. We build it, host it and keep it running.

A million people, 747 square miles

The Census Bureau estimates Jacksonville's population at 1,017,689 as of July 1, 2025, up 7.2% since 2020, spread over 747 square miles. There are 394,370 households, 57.6% of homes are owner-occupied, the median home value is $293,700 and the median household income is $69,872. Jacksonville and Duval County merged into one government in 1968, so most of that area is one city.

For a contractor that means service-area wording matters more here than almost anywhere in Florida. Name the sides of town you work: the Beaches, Arlington, the Westside, Mandarin, the Northside. A homeowner in Mandarin won't call a builder who seems to be based on the far Northside unless the site says you go there.

Permits go through JaxEPICS

The city's Building Inspection Division requires every permit type to be submitted online through its JaxEPICS portal, and it enforces the Florida Building Code, 8th Edition (2023). Permits are required for new buildings, additions and alterations such as re-roofs and garage conversions, and for repairs including water heater and air conditioner replacement. A Notice of Commencement is needed on most jobs over $5,000. The city says a first plan review currently takes 25 to 30 business days, and a permit expires after 180 days without an inspection.

To register to pull permits, a contractor provides a state construction license, photo ID and proof of workers' compensation. Explain the permit timeline on your site in a sentence or two. Clients who know a review takes weeks are far less frustrated than clients who find out later.

Two boards a homeowner can check

Jacksonville's Construction Trades Qualifying Board certifies competency for trades including general building, residential, roofing, pool, HVAC, electrical and plumbing contractors under city ordinances. The city's own FAQ tells homeowners to verify a contractor with DBPR at (904) 727-6530 or the CTQB at (904) 630-2657. Statewide, licensed contractors file an insurance affidavit, submit to a criminal history check and complete 14 hours of continuing education each two-year cycle.

List both your state license and your CTQB certification, and link to the state search. The city is actively telling customers to check, so make it easy.

Protection that only comes with a license

Florida's Homeowners' Construction Recovery Fund can reimburse a homeowner who can't collect a judgment against a licensed contractor, but only if the contractor was licensed when the contract was signed. Unlicensed contracting is a crime, and a felony during a declared state of emergency. Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, and NWS Jacksonville recorded 77 thunderstorm days in 2025. A page on storm repair that explains how you document damage for insurers gives worried owners a clear next step.

Jacksonville contractor website questions

How is a contractor website priced?

Month to month with no setup fee: Starter $24.99 a month for one page, Business $34.99 for up to 3 pages, Pro $49.99 for up to 5. Hosting and technical upkeep are included, and the first month is paid through secure Stripe checkout at signup.

Can the site list which neighborhoods I serve?

Yes. A service-area section naming your parts of Duval County is standard, and we can add nearby counties if you pull permits there too.

Should I explain permits on my website?

A short note helps. We can add a sentence that permits go through JaxEPICS and that first reviews take weeks, so clients plan for it.

Can I add a storm repair page later?

Yes. Extra pages beyond your plan are $149.99 each, or move to a plan with more pages. After launch, Amy, your AI website assistant, handles small changes like this (10 published edits a month included); anything bigger goes to our team and we'll send you a quote.
