Pooler websites for Chatham County service pros
Pooler prices its business license by headcount: $125 for up to one employee, then $50 more for each added employee up to 20.
Priced by headcount
Pooler is a Chatham County city, and every business with a location there, or planning to work there, pays an annual Occupational Tax Certificate fee. The fee depends on employees at each location: $125 for 0 to 1, $175 for 2, rising $50 per employee to $1,075 at 20, then $5 for each employee past 20. Eligible practitioners can pay $400 each and skip the employee fee.
The process runs in steps. You submit the application with its documents, Planning and Development reviews it and sends an invoice, and you pay in person, by mail or online. Existing spaces then need a Building/Life Safety inspection; the first is free, and reinspections cost $50. Spaces built or renovated within the past six months skip it. New buildings need a certificate of occupancy before Planning signs off, and a temporary CO isn't enough.
Fees are payable January 1, and renewal forms go out in October and November. The renewal form says pay by March 31 to avoid penalties, with late fees from April 1 accruing monthly. Home businesses fall into two categories, home occupations and phone-only home offices, and must check that subdivision covenants allow them.
