Casselberry requirements
Casselberry defines a business broadly: nearly any activity that provides a product or service to customers, whether or not it makes a profit. The City applies Chapter 26 of its code, plus Section 2-7.17 for home occupations.
You need a separate receipt for each commercial location and for each business classification at the same address. Running a business from your house requires a home Business Tax Receipt.
Applications go through the Citizenserve portal. The portal now says that, effective August 1, the City no longer collects Seminole County's tax, so you need separate City and County receipts. The Tax Collector agrees. An older City FAQ still says the City issues both, so follow the portal.
A first receipt is good until September 30. After that, receipts run October 1 to September 30. The City mails reminders in August as a courtesy, but if one never arrives you still owe any late penalty.
If your business uses any name other than your legal name or a properly registered corporate name, the FAQ says you have to register a fictitious name. Questions go to the business tax section at [email protected] or (407) 262-7751, at City Hall, 95 Triplet Lake Drive.
