Assisted living website design & SEO in Ohio

City pages for Ohio residential care facilities, starting with the 30 cities where the Ohio Department of Health lists the most licensed homes, from Cincinnati and Columbus to Cleveland, Toledo and the Mahoning Valley.

The origin

One page per place, proven first in another industry

We built this structure for All Pro Restroom Trailers, a Florida dealer: a page for every state plus DC and a page for each major city, so a buyer searching anywhere landed on a page about their own area.

289pages: 234 city pages and 51 state hubs
6states and DC buyers wrote from: MD, DC, AL, TX, NC, FL
7quote requests in 8 weeks

The standout: the Maryland Jockey Club found All Pro through its Maryland page and asked for a formal $32,499 quote, and Mallory Safety / OMNIA Partners got in touch about corporate purchasing.

Figures from our All Pro Restroom Trailers project (allprorestroomtrailers.com). Inquiries were quote requests, not closed sales.

People looking for care in Ohio search the same way, by city and by neighborhood. So the Ohio pages begin where the state's licensing list is busiest.

Ohio specifics

What an Ohio residential care facility should make clear

The Department of Health's facility listing shows 817 licensed residential care facilities with 71,734 licensed beds across 82 of Ohio's 88 counties. Your license, in Ohio's words

Ohio licenses assisted living as a residential care facility through the Department of Health, which also inspects each home. Many readers only know the phrase "assisted living," so connect the two in one sentence.

Special care units

Ohio's rules define a special care unit and require a facility to share its special care unit policy with people seeking residency there before admission. If you run one, keep your site consistent with that policy; if you don't, leave it out.

Assisted Living Waiver questions

The waiver can pay for care services for eligible residents in certified homes, never room and board, which the resident pays at a state-set amount. A short, accurate note handles the question without claiming participation.

Same-name cities

Springfield, Dublin, Lancaster, Middletown and others share names with cities in other states. Your page and profile need "Ohio" and your county so Google shows you to the right people.

The template

Every example runs on Assisted Living (Premium)

Each city page links to an invented sample facility on the Assisted Living (Premium) template (STH-ALF-031). Owner questions

What Ohio owners ask us

Why does each Ohio city get its own page?

People search by town: "assisted living Westlake" or "memory care Mason," not "assisted living Ohio." A page for each place you serve gives Google an exact match. That structure brought our All Pro client quote requests from six states.

What is a residential care facility?

It is Ohio's licensed form of assisted living. The Ohio Department of Health defines it as a home that provides accommodations for seventeen or more unrelated people and supervision and personal care for three or more of them, or accommodations for three or more unrelated people with supervision and personal care for at least three and skilled nursing care for at least one. ODH licenses and inspects these homes. Say plainly that you hold this license.

How should we describe a memory care or special care unit?

Ohio's rules define a special care unit as a facility or part of one dedicated to residents with diagnoses such as late-stage cognitive impairment or serious mental illness. Before admission, a facility must give people seeking residency there a copy of its special care unit policy, covering things like admission criteria, staffing, activities, costs and staff training. Describe your unit only if you have one, and keep it consistent with that policy.

Can we mention Ohio's Assisted Living Medicaid Waiver?

The Assisted Living Waiver can pay for care services for eligible people age 21 or older in an ODH-licensed residential care facility that is certified for the program. It does not pay room and board; the resident pays a set monthly amount based on the SSI federal benefit rate minus $50. Mention the waiver only if you take part; we never claim participation you don't have.

Are directory listings enough?

Referral sites pass each family to several homes at once. Your own site is where people hear from you directly, and it is the link Google shows on your Business Profile.
