Assisted living website design & SEO in Pennsylvania
City pages for Pennsylvania personal care homes and assisted living residences, starting with the 30 cities where the state directory lists six or more licensed homes, from Philadelphia and Pittsburgh to Lancaster, Erie and State College.
How it started
One page for each place, proven in another industry
We built this structure for All Pro Restroom Trailers, a Florida dealer: a page for each state plus DC and a page for each major city, so a buyer searching anywhere found a page about their own area.
The best-known result: the Maryland Jockey Club found All Pro on its Maryland page and requested a formal $32,499 quote, and Mallory Safety / OMNIA Partners reached out about corporate purchasing.
Figures from our All Pro Restroom Trailers project (allprorestroomtrailers.com). Inquiries were quote requests, not closed sales.
People choosing care in Pennsylvania search the same way, by town and by county, so the Pennsylvania pages start where the state directory is busiest.
Pennsylvania specifics
What a Pennsylvania personal care home or assisted living residence should make clear
The Department of Human Services directory lists 1,053 licensed homes: 989 personal care homes and 64 assisted living residences, with 67,270 beds of licensed capacity. Two license types
Personal care homes are licensed under 55 Pa. Code Chapter 2600 and assisted living residences under Chapter 2800, both by the Department of Human Services. Use the term that matches your license.
Four or more residents
A personal care home serves four or more unrelated adults who need help with daily activities but not a nursing facility. Homes range from a handful of residents to several hundred.
Payment, honestly
DHS says these homes are typically not covered by Medicaid and most residents pay privately. Community HealthChoices waiver services apply only in limited cases, so a short, accurate note is best.
Shared town names
Washington, Indiana, Lebanon, Hanover, Newtown and York all share names with bigger places. Your page and profile need "Pennsylvania" and your county.
Licensing sources: DHS, Personal Care Homes & Assisted Living Residences; DHS, PCH & ALR Licensing; 55 Pa. Code § 2600.4 (definitions); CHC operations manual 4-100-18-02 (services in PCHs and ALRs). Read Nov 1, 2026.

The template
Every example runs on Assisted Living (Premium)

Common questions
What Pennsylvania owners ask us
Why build a page for every Pennsylvania city?
People search by town: "personal care home Lancaster" or "assisted living Mechanicsburg," not "assisted living Pennsylvania." A page for each place you serve gives Google an exact match. That structure brought our All Pro client quote requests from six states.
Who licenses personal care homes and assisted living residences in Pennsylvania?
The Department of Human Services licenses and inspects both. Personal care homes follow 55 Pa. Code Chapter 2600 and assisted living residences follow Chapter 2800. The department inspects each home every year and investigates complaints and incidents.
What makes a home a personal care home?
Under 55 Pa. Code § 2600.4, a personal care home provides food, shelter and personal assistance or supervision for more than 24 hours to four or more adults who are not relatives of the operator, who do not need a long-term care facility but do need help with daily activities.
How is an assisted living residence different?
DHS describes assisted living residences as offering all the care of a personal care home while possibly serving people with higher care needs who still do not need 24-hour nursing care. Assisted living licensure was created in 2007 by Act 56, with the aim of letting residents age in place.
Can we mention Community HealthChoices?
Carefully. DHS says personal care homes and assisted living residences are typically not covered by Medicaid and most residents pay privately. Under the Community HealthChoices operations manual, a participant receiving waiver services may live in an assisted living residence only if it meets federal home and community-based settings rules and lets the resident choose providers. Mention it only if it truly applies to you; we never claim participation you don't have.
