Assisted living website design & SEO in Washington

City pages for Washington assisted living facilities, starting with the 30 cities where the DSHS locator lists the most licensed facilities, from Seattle, Spokane and Vancouver to Tacoma, Wenatchee and Oak Harbor.

How it started

A page for every place, first tested in another industry

We built this structure for All Pro Restroom Trailers, a Florida dealer: a page for each state plus DC and a page for each major city, so a buyer searching anywhere landed on a page about their own area.

289pages live: 234 city pages, 51 state hubs
7quote requests in 8 weeks
6buyer locations: FL, NC, TX, AL, MD, DC

The best-known result: the Maryland Jockey Club found All Pro on its Maryland page and requested a formal $32,499 quote, and Mallory Safety / OMNIA Partners reached out about corporate purchasing.

Figures from our All Pro Restroom Trailers project (allprorestroomtrailers.com). Inquiries were quote requests, not closed sales.

People choosing care in Washington search the same way, by city and by neighborhood, so the Washington pages start where the state locator is busiest.

Washington specifics

What a Washington assisted living facility should make clear

The DSHS locator lists 558 licensed assisted living facilities with 38,576 licensed beds. 348 of them hold a DSHS contract, and 293 are Memory Care Certified. Seven residents and up

Washington's assisted living law covers homes serving seven or more residents. Adult family homes, for two to eight adults, are licensed separately by DSHS.

State your contract plainly

Only facilities with a DSHS contract can accept Medicaid. Say whether you hold one, and which service packages it covers.

Memory care, accurately

The locator shows which facilities are Memory Care Certified and which hold a Specialized Dementia Care contract. Claim only what yours shows.

COPES, in its place

COPES can add limited services for eligible residents of contracted facilities. It does not replace the facility contract or pay room and board.

Licensing sources: DSHS, About Assisted Living Facilities; RCW 18.20.020 (definitions); DSHS, Personal Care in a Residential Setting (adult family homes, service packages, room and board); WAC 388-106-0305 (COPES in residential facilities); DSHS, Home and Community Living Administration. Common questions

What Washington owners ask us

Why build a page for every Washington city?

People search by town: "assisted living Spokane Valley" or "memory care Bellevue," not "assisted living Washington." A page for each place you serve gives Google an exact match. That structure brought our All Pro client quote requests from six states.

Who licenses assisted living in Washington?

The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) licenses assisted living facilities. In May 2025 DSHS moved its aging and long-term support work into a new Home and Community Living Administration.

What counts as an assisted living facility in Washington?

Under RCW 18.20.020, a home or institution that provides housing, basic services and general responsibility for the safety and well-being of seven or more residents. Facilities licensed for three to six residents on or before July 1, 2000 may keep that license while continuously licensed.

How is an adult family home different?

DSHS licenses adult family homes separately. Each one supports two to eight adults in a residential home, while assisted living facilities serve seven or more.

Can we say we accept Medicaid?

Only if you hold a DSHS contract. The DSHS locator notes that only facilities with DSHS contracts can accept Medicaid; 348 of the 558 facilities it lists show one. Residents in contracted facilities pay room and board based on their income.

What is COPES, and can we mention it?

COPES is a DSHS Medicaid waiver. Under WAC 388-106-0305, eligible residents of contracted assisted living facilities and adult family homes can receive a limited set of extra services, such as specialized equipment, nursing or transportation, that do not replace what the facility's contract covers. We never say you take COPES or Medicaid residents unless you do.
