Assisted living website design & SEO in Illinois
City pages for Illinois assisted living and shared housing establishments and supportive living sites, starting with the 30 address cities where the state lists show the most of them, from Chicago, Springfield and Quincy to Godfrey, New Lenox and Bartlett.
How it started
A page for every place, first tested in another industry
We built this structure for All Pro Restroom Trailers, a Florida dealer: a page for each state plus DC and a page for each major city, so a buyer searching anywhere landed on a page about their own area.
The best-known result: the Maryland Jockey Club found All Pro on its Maryland page and requested a formal $32,499 quote, and Mallory Safety / OMNIA Partners reached out about corporate purchasing.
Figures from our All Pro Restroom Trailers project (allprorestroomtrailers.com). Inquiries were quote requests, not closed sales.
People choosing care in Illinois search the same way, by suburb, by neighborhood and by the road they drive, so the Illinois pages start where the state lists are busiest.
Illinois specifics
What an Illinois establishment should make clear
The IDPH Facility Lookup lists 601 distinct assisted living and shared housing establishments statewide, and HFS lists 163 distinct Supportive Living Program sites (a facility and its dementia care setting counted once). Illinois licenses far fewer senior-care settings than most states of its size, so the 30 cities here are smaller markets than on other hubs. Sources: Illinois Department of Public Health, Facility Lookup (assisted living/shared housing establishments by address city; 634 results, 601 distinct) and Illinois HFS, Supportive Living Program sites by county (176 listings, 163 distinct street addresses; a facility and its dementia care setting count once), both read Nov 1, 2026
Name your license type
Illinois has two under the Act: assisted living establishment (three or more unrelated adults, at least 80 percent aged 55 or older) and shared housing establishment (16 or fewer). Say which one you hold on every page.
Say how big you are
The IDPH lookup lists establishments without capacity or unit counts, so families cannot tell a 12-resident shared housing home from a 120-apartment building until they visit. Put the size, dining and staffing on the page.
Medicaid, accurately
Medicaid pays for assisted-living-style care only through the HFS Supportive Living Program at certified sites, where the resident pays room and board. Mention Medicaid only if you are certified.
Shared town names
Springfield, Peoria, Bloomington, Decatur, Marion, Aurora and St. Charles all share names with places in other states. Use "IL" on your page and profile.
Licensing sources: 210 ILCS 9/10 (Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act definitions and mandatory services); IDPH, Division of Assisted Living (licensure and survey of establishments since July 2002); HFS, Supportive Living Program (Medicaid alternative to nursing home care; resident pays room and board); HFS, SLP Resident Fact Sheet (certified providers are exempt from the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act). Illinois city pages
Website design by city, busiest markets first
Cities are ranked by the number of IDPH-licensed establishments plus distinct HFS supportive living sites at that address city (combined count in parentheses), ties by establishments and then by name, then grouped by region. No capacity or unit figures are used.

The template
Every example runs on Assisted Living (Premium)

Common questions
What Illinois owners ask us
Why build a page for every Illinois city?
People search by town: "assisted living Naperville" or "memory care Peoria," not "assisted living Illinois." A page for each place you serve gives Google an exact match. That structure brought our All Pro client quote requests from six states.
Who regulates assisted living in Illinois?
The Illinois Department of Public Health, through its Division of Assisted Living, licenses and surveys assisted living and shared housing establishments under the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act (210 ILCS 9). IDPH began licensing establishments in July 2002.
What is an assisted living establishment?
Under section 10 of the Act, a home, building or residence with sleeping accommodations for at least three unrelated adults, at least 80 percent of whom are 55 or older, that provides community-based residential care with personal, supportive and intermittent health-related services available 24 hours a day under a social model. Mandatory services include three meals a day, housekeeping, laundry, 24-hour security and an emergency response system.
What is a shared housing establishment?
Under the same section, a free-standing residence for 16 or fewer persons, at least 80 percent of whom are 55 or older and unrelated to the owners, with the same kind of services. Both types are licensed by IDPH.
Can we say we accept Medicaid?
Only if you are an HFS-certified Supportive Living Program site. HFS describes the program as Medicaid's alternative to nursing home care for low-income older adults and people with disabilities; the resident pays room and board, and certified sites are exempt from the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act. A licensed establishment that is not certified should not claim Medicaid.
