Assisted living website design & SEO in Kansas

City pages for Kansas assisted living facilities, home plus homes and residential health care facilities, starting with the 30 cities where the KDADS directory lists the most of them, from Wichita, Overland Park and Topeka to Seneca, Coffeyville and Emporia.

How it started

A page for every place, first tested in another industry

We built this structure for All Pro Restroom Trailers, a Florida dealer: a page for each state plus DC and a page for each major city, so a buyer searching anywhere landed on a page about their own area.

289pages live: 234 city pages and 51 state hubs
7quote requests in 8 weeks
6buyer locations: FL, NC, TX, AL, MD, DC

The best-known result: the Maryland Jockey Club found All Pro on its Maryland page and requested a formal $32,499 quote, and Mallory Safety / OMNIA Partners reached out about corporate purchasing.

Figures from our All Pro Restroom Trailers project (allprorestroomtrailers.com). Inquiries were quote requests, not closed sales.

People choosing care in Kansas search the same way, by town, by side of Wichita and by the highway they drive, so the Kansas pages start where the state directory is busiest.

Kansas specifics

What a Kansas adult care home should make clear

The KDADS Adult Care Home Directory lists 233 assisted living facilities, 260 home plus homes and 118 residential health care facilities statewide. Wichita and Johnson County together hold 276 of those 611 listings (73 assisted living facilities, 156 home plus homes, 47 residential health care facilities), so most of the 30 cities here are small markets where one clear page stands out. Name your classification

Kansas has three that families call assisted living: assisted living facility (six or more residents, apartments), residential health care facility (individual living units) and home plus (no more than 12 residents). Say which one you hold on every page.

Home plus outnumbers assisted living

The directory lists more home plus homes than assisted living facilities, and most of them are houses on residential streets without a website. A small home that shows its rooms, its routine and its people is rare online.

Medicaid, accurately

KDADS says the HCBS Frail Elderly (FE) waiver pays for some but not all services in an assisted living, residential health care or home plus setting, and the resident pays room and raw food costs. Use those words, and only if you serve waiver customers.

Shared town names

Manhattan, Lawrence, Newton, Augusta, Ottawa, Mission, Pittsburg, Shawnee, Andover, Derby, Concordia, Emporia and Kansas City all share names with places elsewhere. Use "KS" on your page and profile.

Kansas city pages

Website design by city, busiest markets first

Cities are ranked by the number of KDADS-licensed assisted living facilities, home plus homes and residential health care facilities with that city in the directory (combined count in parentheses), ties by assisted living facilities and then by name, then grouped by region. No bed or capacity figures are used.

Common questions

What Kansas owners ask us

Why build a page for every Kansas city?

People search by town: "assisted living Olathe" or "home plus Wichita," not "assisted living Kansas." A page for each place you serve gives Google an exact match. That structure brought our All Pro client quote requests from six states.

Who regulates assisted living in Kansas?

The Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) licenses every adult care home under the adult care home licensure act, K.S.A. 39-923 and following. Annual license renewals and change forms go through its KOTA web application.

What is an assisted living facility in Kansas?

Under K.S.A. 39-923, a place caring for six or more unrelated individuals who may need personal care and supervised nursing care, with apartments for residents and a range of services, including personal care or supervised nursing care, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Skilled nursing may be provided on an intermittent or limited basis.

What are home plus and residential health care?

Both are adult care home classifications in the same statute. A home plus cares for not more than 12 individuals who need personal care and may need supervised nursing care. A residential health care facility is the assisted living model with individual living units instead of apartments, for six or more residents.

Can we say we accept Medicaid?

Only in KDADS's own words. Its Frail Elderly waiver page says the HCBS FE program will pay for some but not all services delivered in an assisted living facility, residential health care facility, home plus or boarding care home; the resident is responsible for room and raw food costs. Eligibility is age 65 or older, the Medicaid nursing facility threshold score and Medicaid financial eligibility.
