Assisted living website design & SEO in New Jersey
Town pages for New Jersey assisted living residences, comprehensive personal care homes and residential dementia care homes licensed by the Department of Health, starting with the 30 towns where the state list shows the most of them, from Toms River, West Orange and Bridgewater to Whippany, Englewood and Hamilton.
How it started
A page for every place, first tested in another industry
We built this structure for All Pro Restroom Trailers, a Florida dealer: a page for each state plus DC and a page for each major city, so a buyer searching anywhere landed on a page about their own area.
The best-known result: the Maryland Jockey Club found All Pro on its Maryland page and requested a formal $32,499 quote, and Mallory Safety / OMNIA Partners reached out about corporate purchasing.
Figures from our All Pro Restroom Trailers project (allprorestroomtrailers.com). Inquiries were quote requests, not closed sales.
People choosing care in New Jersey search the same way, by town, by county and by the highway exit, so the New Jersey pages start where the state list is busiest.
New Jersey specifics
What a New Jersey residence should make clear
The Department of Health spreadsheet lists 256 assisted living residences, 32 comprehensive personal care homes and 31 residential dementia care homes statewide. No town has more than seven, so the 30 towns here are small markets where one clear page stands out. Name your license
New Jersey has two main ones under N.J.A.C. 8:36: the assisted living residence (apartment-style units with a private bathroom, kitchenette and lockable door, plus congregate dining) and the comprehensive personal care home (room and board in units of no more than two residents). Say which you hold on every page.
Township or mailing address?
Sewell, Marlton, Basking Ridge, Whippany and Somerset are mailing addresses or villages inside larger townships. Name the township and the road next to the address so the map pin and the search both land.
Medicaid, accurately
New Jersey Medicaid covers assisted living through NJ FamilyCare's Managed Long Term Services and Supports (MLTSS), delivered by managed care plans to members who meet the clinical and financial requirements. Mention it only if you are a provider in those plans, and in those words.
Shared town names
Wayne, Livingston, Jackson, Hillsborough, Shrewsbury, Englewood and Lakewood all share names with places in other states. Use "NJ" on your page and profile.
Licensing sources: N.J.A.C. 8:36 Notice of Readoption (Nov 29, 2021) (definitions of assisted living residence and comprehensive personal care home); NJDOH, Certificate of Need and Facility Licensing (new assisted living facilities eligible for expedited review; the Department licenses assisted living residences); NJDOH, Long-Term Care Facilities Search; NJ DHS, Managed Long Term Services and Supports (MLTSS) (what it is, what it covers, who qualifies). New Jersey town pages
Website design by town, busiest markets first
Towns are ranked by the number of Department of Health-licensed assisted living residences, comprehensive personal care homes and residential dementia care homes with that city on the list (combined count in parentheses), ties by assisted living residences and then by name, then grouped by region. Assisted living programs, a separate license type in the same spreadsheet, are not counted. Same-place spellings (Hamilton and Hamilton Township, Marlton and Evesham) are merged. No bed counts are used.

The template
Every example runs on Assisted Living (Premium)

Common questions
What New Jersey owners ask us
Why build a page for every New Jersey town?
People search by town: "assisted living Toms River" or "memory care Paramus," not "assisted living New Jersey." A page for each place you serve gives Google an exact match. That structure brought our All Pro client quote requests from six states.
Who regulates assisted living in New Jersey?
The New Jersey Department of Health licenses assisted living residences, comprehensive personal care homes and assisted living programs under N.J.A.C. 8:36, Standards for Licensure of Assisted Living Residences, Comprehensive Personal Care Homes, and Assisted Living Programs (readopted November 29, 2021). New assisted living facilities are eligible for the Department's expedited Certificate of Need review.
What is an assisted living residence?
Under N.J.A.C. 8:36, a facility licensed by the Department of Health to provide apartment-style housing and congregate dining and to assure that assisted living services are available when needed, for four or more adult persons unrelated to the proprietor. Apartment units offer, at a minimum, one unfurnished room, a private bathroom, a kitchenette, and a lockable door on the unit entrance.
What is a comprehensive personal care home?
Under the same chapter, a facility licensed by the Department of Health to provide room and board and to assure that assisted living services are available when needed, to four or more adults unrelated to the proprietor. Residential units house no more than two residents and have a lockable door on the unit entrance.
Can we say we accept Medicaid?
Only if you are a provider in an NJ FamilyCare managed care plan and only in the program's words. The state describes Managed Long Term Services and Supports (MLTSS) as the delivery of long-term services through NJ FamilyCare's managed care program, with assisted living among the services it includes, for people who meet the clinical and financial requirements. A page that claims more than you offer is a problem for you, not for us.
